PLEASE READ

How our fees workbefore you instruct us

The figures below are a guide only. A higher fixed fee may be quoted depending on complexity and individual circumstances. You will be told in advance if additional fees are likely.

What’s not included

Home Office fees, tribunal fees, and disbursements such as interpreter, translation, counsel, expert and DNA testing fees are charged separately.

Fixed fee system

In most cases we fix a fee for the work we undertake, so you can budget for your case and know the full cost before instructing Albany Solicitors.

VAT

All fees are subject to VAT depending on the client’s status. VAT is chargeable at 20% where applicable.

FEE OPTIONS

Ways we canfund your case

We understand that legal fees can be one of the most worrying parts of seeking advice. We will make the potential costs clear at the outset so you can make an informed choice.

Free 15-minute call

A pre-booked telephone appointment to discuss the most appropriate application and next steps. No advice is confirmed in writing. Not for straightforward visa extensions unless multiple options apply.

One-off advice

A paid appointment of up to 45 minutes, in person, on Zoom, Teams or by telephone, for more in-depth advice. Formal written advice is provided afterwards. Starting from £125.

Fixed fees

In most cases we agree a fixed fee before work begins, so you can budget with confidence. Additional unanticipated work or an excessive number of appointments may be charged extra — you will be told first.

Hourly rates

For more complicated cases and those before the Higher Courts we offer competitive hourly rates, confirmed at the outset.

Legal aid

We do not hold a Legal Aid Agency contract.
